Paranthropus Robustus
Range: Southern Africa. It also lived in
Kromrdaai, and Swatkarns.They lived close to the Sahara. They
lived in the rain forests and some of the savannas. They also lived on Madagascar.
Time: About 2.0 to 1.2 million years ago. It lived between those dates.
Description: It looked like an Afarensis find. But it was tougher. A new human! Robustus was named for its features. Its brain size was 1/3 of ours. That's smaller than a chimpanzee's brain!
Culture:Tools found. First discovered cave had a population of 130 remaining skeletons. We don't know the clture. If their brain was smaller than a chimpanzee's they may have had no culture. Interesting facts: Did you know that there is a Australopithecus robustus! Are they related or the same?
