It is 1168. The Aztecs have just settled into the Anahuac valley, in 1325 they will go on the journey that started it all. One night in a cave was said to be the birth of Huitzilpoctli (weet-zil-poctli) the sun god. His dream message was "Build the city where the eagle clutches a snake in its claw," and in 1481 this is what the Aztecs, Mexica, or Tenochs did. They started on the temple of Huitzilpoctli first because they believed he founded the city. It took one year to build the city of Tenochtitlán. Tenochtitlán means "Place of the Tenochs."
